Paya Lebar Central (PLC) Commercial Hub was defined in the 2008 URA draft master plan to be identified as one of the commercial hubs to be developed outside the core city centre for de-centralization. The urban regeneration project in Paya Lebar Central cost $3.2 billion and it comprises Grade A offices, shopping malls and a high end residential condominium called Paya Lebar Quarters (PLQ).
There are currently several new and exciting malls such as Paya Lebar Square, Paya Lebar Quarter mall and Singpost Centre that brings more choices for entertainment , retail therapy and good range of food and beverages outlets and restaurants like Haidilao and Pu Tien just to name a few.
The rejuvenation of PLQ also promotes balance healthy lifestyle as it comes with 100,000 sq ft of green spaces and a cycling path.
Many newer developments around the area will seamlessly integrate the scenic Geylang River, with shops and restaurants along the riverfront. Pedestrians will be able to travel with ease with covered walkways, underground walkways and overhead bridges to further enhance connectivity.
Residents staying in Penrose will enjoy the endless choices on retail , entertainment and dining options at just one MRT stop away.
